Abstract: In Peru, the traditional way of delivering a construction projects is based on long processes that starts with the project designer who develops all the documentation and with the builder, selected after a bidding process in accordance with the law, which assumes all responsibilities and risks of the project. This traditional model has generated that many of the construction projects in Peru have limitations and do not achieve the main objectives proposed, thus generating, for example, budget increases, delays, lack of quality, etc. and always accompanied by a hostile environment and distrust of the participants. IPD contracts have shown that it is possible to create a collaborative work environment, aligned to all the economic interests of those involved and create direct collaboration between the designer, the builder and the client, using tools such as BIM can achieve a greater success coordination with all parties for the initiation of construction, optimizing time, cost and achieving the desired quality. In this research work, it is concluded that IPD contracts require a cultural change that encourages collaboration and participation as a whole and not individualistic thinking, sharing the risks and rewards, eliminating litigation and arbitrations between them raising the level of trust until at some point the contract, as such, it will not be necessary to use it as a problem solver.
