This research aimed to determine the relationship between biosocioeconomic factors and level of depression in patients receiving chemotherapy at the Hospital de la Amistad Perú Corea II-2 Santa Rosa - Piura, a descriptive, correlational, cross-sectional study, carried out from September to October 2022. The sample was 100 patients, two instruments were applied: a questionnaire to measure biosocioeconomic factors, and a questionnaire for the level of depression. The results obtained were: 78% women, 19% young adults, 62% average adult, and 19% older adults, of whom 15% were single, 53% married, 25% cohabiting, 3% divorced, and 5% widowed; 2% were found without education and 59% with higher education. 47% have economic income of 950 soles, 17% received more than 2000 soles and 48% have minor children. 23% have stage 2, 51% stage 3 and 26% stage 4; 82% have more than 6 months of illness; and 71% of the patients did not have metastases at the time of the interview; Regarding family functioning, 24% obtained a normal score, and 27% severe family dysfunction. A relationship was found between family functioning and the level of depression; with 13% of patients with a level of mild depression with mild family functioning, 12.0% with moderate depression present moderate family functioning, and 6% of patients with severe depression as well as family dysfunction, a tau value was also observed. Kendall's c of 0.201 with probability 0.024, this being significant.
