The purpose of this investigation article is to define the geotechnical parameters and develop the geotechnical design of a tunnel at 61 Km of the Trujillo – Otuzco highway by the Bieniawski’s RMR design methodology. Geotechnical parameters and rock tests were used to carry out the design. The methodology employed in this research begins with the compendium of information of the laboratory tests, obtaining values in the geotechnical parameters, carried out in the Geotechnical Laboratory ““GECONSAC““. These data are distinguished in the parameters of values according to the RMR methodology, previously, make a topographic plan of the study area is done by the “ARC GIS““ software. This investigation purpose is to contribute to a better understanding of the state of the rock mass under study through the geotechnical parameters that characterize the rocks. This initiative of a geotechnical study of the area under investigation, gives us the means to be more frequent with tunnel engineering in the department of La Libertad. On the other hand, the geomechanics of the rock mass will be provided, which will aid to have a preliminary recognition of it, which can be used for the future environment. <<
