The present research work was developed in the urban area of Chao, located in the district of Chao, Viru province, La Libertad region, its purpose is to carry out a flexible pavement design, for which the trip to the area of study where the description of the current state of its streets was carried out, showing that the existing pavements are in poor conditions of service due to having many faults, some reaching the level of the granular base, streets that were not paved were also evidenced, making it difficult in this way the trafficability of the vehicles. The flexible pavement structure will be designed by the method of the American Association Of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASTHO), considering its design variables and procedures stipulated in its guides, for this a topographic survey will first be carried out to determine the shape and relief. of the terrain, later a soil study will be carried out, traffic study, which are necessary for the design and determine the thicknesses of the layers that make up the flexible pavement. The development of the structural design of the flexible pavement is presented using the AASHTO method that will improve vehicular trafficability, will also favor its economic growth and allow a better quality of life for the inhabitants, in addition to contributing to social inclusion.
