The research was carried out in the company Conforflex SAC, dedicated to the manufacture of shoe soles, in order to design a proposal to improve working methods that will increase productivity in the line for the manufacture of flat vinyl polyurethane soles (PVC) for women's footwear, and which have the highest demand. It began with the analysis of the production process, and the calculation of the times in the injection, inspection, and grouping stages, as well as the standard time; determining the current production, and productivity. The process flow diagram, the time study technique, the operations flow diagram, the survey, the Ishikawa diagram, and the Pareto analysis were used to find the most impacting factors in current productivity; finding that it is 7,207 pairs of soles / man hour. The current method of work in the stages of injection, inspection and grouping was analyzed, as well as the body movements of the operators through the analytical diagram of the operations and the bimanual diagram of the movements of the operator's hands. The study of the current anthropometric measurements and the distribution of space and the current worktable was carried out to later propose new ergonomic methods. It was found that the percentile up to 5%, the height of the workers is 1.59 m. the percentile up to 50%, which represents the median, is up to 1.64 m, equivalent to the 95% percentile, the value of 1.70 m indicating the maximum height of the operators. The new operations diagram was designed, as well as the new methods and work movements through the bimanual diagram, finding unnecessary movements mostly in the left hand, reducing unproductive times by 16.32% for the left hand and 17.64 in the right hand. The new proposed standard time improved to 6429 minutes per pair of soles compared to the previous 7138 minutes per pair of soles. Finally, the result of the proposal to improve methods and times had a positive impact on the new productivity, going from 7,207 to 8,002, representing a favorable variation rate of 11.03%.
