The present research work accounts for the lack of paving and road infrastructure in urban roads and our city of Trujillo is not exempt from this lack. As a result of this, it generates environmental pollution, difficulty in the comfort of both vehicular and pedestrian transfer to various recreational, commercial and educational areas. The study of the thesis was carried out on José Carlos Mariátegui and Vista Alegre streets in the El Milagro town center of the City of Trujillo, through descriptive research. With the main objective of designing the pavement structure as an alternative solution for the improvement of the mentioned streets. For the aforementioned and guided by the standards established by the MTC (Ministry of Transport and Communications), preliminary studies were carried out, such as soil mechanics studies, which determined that the predominant type of soil is well-graded gravel and presents a CBR of 35.89%. Likewise, the traffic study was carried out; In order to obtain the number of repetitions of equivalent axes for the flexible pavement with a conservative value of 990,000.00 EE and for the rigid pavement 1, 150,000.00 EE. For the design of the pavement structure, the AASHTO 93 methodology and the recommendations were used of the Building Regulations: Standard CE.010 Urban Pavements. 2010, which served to establish the parameters and thicknesses for the design of the pavement. And resulting in a 6 cm asphalt layer, a 15 cm granular base and a 15 cm granular sub-base for the flexible pavement, with an estimated cost of two million one hundred sixty-eight thousand four hundred thirty-eight with 41/100 nuevos soles (S /. 2,168,438.41) and for the rigid pavement a 15 cm concrete slab was obtained with an f´c = 280 kg / cm2, a 15 cm granular base with an estimated cost of two million seven hundred seven thousand seven hundred ninety-one six with 86/100 new soles (S /. 2,707,796.86).
