The present research work focuses on the proposal and justification of a Material requirements planning to decrease the costs of inventory of the company ““Fabricaciones CJL S.A.C.““, dedicated to the manufacture of seats for the bodywork industry. The study consists, first, in the description of the company and how to manage your production processes and logistics, analyzing, as well, the operations of materials supply and the impact of these on the inventory costs. Then, using the Microsoft Excel application, the study was conducted to evaluate the products with more participation in the market; later, using the statistical error of forecasts, the demand for the next period was estimated, so it could be prepared a plan of an appropriate production making use of a safety stock to be able to respond to several questions such as What should we buy? How much should we buy? When should we buy? That ends in a material requirement plan for the year 2017. Finally, it was determined the optimal order quantity of materials that allows to reduce the total costs of inventory from S/. 204.487 to S/. 161,820.00, obtaining a saving of S/. 42.667, which is equivalent to 20.87 % compared with the previous year, and conducting an economic analysis of B/C getting 3.26, which justifies the Material requirements planning.
