The follow-up of the patients for at least 30 days after discharge, It is important; which would give greater precision, for the diagnosis of infections. Results. Risk factors for operative site infection: age OR = 3.12, sex = 2.67, comorbidities: hypertension OR = 3.37, diabetes OR = 2.80, smoking OR = 2.83 and priority of surgery OR = 3.27 significant statistical association Age (p value 0.015), sex (p value 0.012) comorbidities hypertension (p value 0.017), Diabetes (p value 0.019), tobacco (p value 0.011), priority emergency surgery (p value 0.007 ) Conclusions The associated risk factors for infection of the operative site were sex, age, hypertension, tobacco and the priority of surgery, with an approximate risk of infection of the operative site for each case between 2 and 3 times compared to not being exposed. the factor.
