To determine if the increased mean platelet volume is a factor associated with erectile dysfunction in patients treated at the Belen de Trujillo Hospital. Material and methods: An observational, cross-sectional analytical study was carried out. In the sample of patients between 40 and 60 years of age, the two variables under study were simultaneously measured, erectile dysfunction through the survey (IIF-5 questionnaire) and the mean platelet volume through their last requested blood count. , then the data of these two variables and of the intervening variables were collected in the data collection sheets prepared for the present study and later the statistical analysis was carried out using the chi-square test and the prevalence ratio, establishing a p less than significant as significant 0,05. Results: The present study found that increased mean platelet volume is a factor associated with erectile dysfunction (PR: 1.71; 95% CI: 1.5-5.7; p<0.05) likewise, in the multivariate analysis, adjustment for intervening variables, it was found that age (PR: 1.30; 95% CI: 1.19-1.42; p:0.000), obesity (PR: 3.33; 95% CI: 1.10-10.01; p:0.032), hypercholesterolemia (PR: 6.29; 95% CI: 2.40 -16.50; p:0.000) and mean platelet volume (PR: 7.66; 95% CI: 2.47-23.68; p:0.000) were also factors associated with erectile dysfunction in adult men treated at the Belen de Trujillo Hospital. Conclusion: The increased mean platelet volume is a factor associated with erectile dysfunction in patients treated at the Belen de Trujillo Hospital.
