The thesis describes the purposes, objectives and scope of the IEC61850 standard de}401nitioonf protection functions using “logical nodes“ that are composed in turn by data representing a speci}40a1pcplication. And tiering of different application functions that make up a SAS (Substation Automation System) such as monitoring and control, protection. monitoring, supervision of communications and their interrelationships and communications between these different functions. This control center can also detect any abnormality in operation and one of its most important advantages is that it offers the possibility to operate on the premises without resorting to the points where they are located, allowing a rapid response in case of incident.
