This research study aimed to determine the relationship between knowledge of the Nursing Care Process and application for the Nurse Practitioner working in the clinical area of !quitos Hospital “Cesar Garcia Garayar“, the method was quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional, descriptive correlational, the size ofthe sample consisted ofthe population amounts to 70 nurses working in the various departments (Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Neonatology, Emergency, Intensive Care Unit , Operating Room and Gynecology). The instruments used were the knowledge test and the checklist that had a validity 93.3% and 97.9% respectively through the Delphi method or expert judgment, with a reliability of 74.2% and 90.7% respectively according to Cronbach's alpha. Data were analyzed using the SPSS version 18. For univariate analysis, descriptive statistics was employed to represent the data expressed as frequencies, percentages and tables. In bivariate analysis, the use of inferential statistics Chi Square (X2) the Pearson correlation coefficient and statistical test Chi Square (X2) to relate the variables under study, with a <0.05 as significance criterion. Of(I) 70 (100%) nurses (1) under study 28.6% (20) were with high knowledge on the Process ofNursing Care and 71.4% (50) were low knowledge. In verifying the implementation of the Nursing Care Process 37.1% (26) applies and 62.9% (44) does not apply the Nursing Care Process. It is evident that 70 ( 100%) of nursing professionals in the study, 3 7.1% (26) applied the Nursing Care Process 17.1% (12) have high knowledge and 20% (14) have low knowledge about the PAE. Ofthe 62.9% (44) not applying the Nursing Care Process 11.4% (8) have high knowledge and 51.4% (36) has low knowledge in the SAP. There is also significant relationship between knowledge and application ofthe nursing care process, obtaining a X2 = 6.27, p = 0.012 (p <0.05), which indicates that the hypothesis is accepted.
