This study aims to evaluate the alternatives for cleaner production in the sugarcane cultivation process of Agroindustrias San Jacinto, analyzing the environmental effects and production costs of each harvesting method, which will allow obtaining a greater utility to the company. The information was collected in the first instance, through interviews and field observation of the different processes for the production of sugar, being able to identify the environmental damage generated by the burning of sugar cane with the harvesting method currently used by the company that is the so-called “manual burned cut”. The analysis consisted of comparing production costs, between the different harvesting methodologies, being, from an environmental and economic point of view, the application of the environmentally friendly strategy of mechanized green-cut production that could solve the problem. pollution, and for which the company would obtain greater economic benefits. For this implementation, the company requires eight harvesting machines, an investment that means USD 1,600,000.00, and for which an additional annual profit will be obtained to what the company currently has of USD 4,532,238.
