This study was developed with the purpose of analyze the value chain of scallops (Argopecten purpuratus) in Sechura Bay. In 2013, 11242 tones were landed in Sechura Bay achieving more than 70% of scallop´s exports (PRODUCE, 2014). This high production showed high economics benefits for all the stakeholders, transcending migrations and disorders between farmers. For the purpose of a socio-economic approach is needed to describe and characterize the connection and the synergy of each one of the agents and links. In the results of the analysis of international demand of scallops, a stable market was determined with 1.39% of annual growth of the value in the last eight years. For the sectorial analysis of the value chain, the methodology of Value Links (2007) of the GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit) was used. The research was descriptive and it was developed during June to August of 2013, where we could identified effectively all agents by using interviews, surveys and observations in a total of fourteen artisanal fishermen, eleven managers of processing industries and two exports managers. In the mapping, the links were analysed through the functions and governance, where the large number of stakeholders are showed in the first link “Farmers” and who govern the last chain of the last link are “Frozen and Exports Industries”. Finally, the socio-economic analysis of the chain showed that the last link “Frozen and Exports Industries” achieved the highest benefit with 52%, followed by the “Farmers” and “Intermediaries” respectively with 8% and 40% of 2.5 million soles produced in 2013.
