This research analyzes the main determinants of women's labor participation in the Department of Cusco, in order to analyze how they influence the decision of women to participate or not in the labor market. The research has as a theoretical support the leisure-consumption model, and to determine the probability of women's labor participation, a Probit model is used based on the information provided by the National Household Survey (ENAHO) for the year 2018. The variables used as determinants of women's labor participation in the labor market are: age, educational level, marital status and having children under 5 years old. From the results obtained, it can be affirmed that the variables age, age squared, primary, secondary, higher, single, and children educational level are significant explanatory variables at 95% confidence in both urban and rural areas to explain the probability of participation of women in the labor market. On the other hand, with respect to the sign of the coefficients found, `` it can be stated that both for rural and urban areas the signs are similar, that is, the effect of the independent variables on the probability of women's participation in the labor market is the same. Concluding the research shows that the age variable of the woman positively influences the probability of participating in the labor market, while the educational level (primary, secondary and higher level), the dummy variable of being single and the dummy of having minor children age 5, both in urban and rural areas negatively influences the probability of participation of women in the labor market. Regarding educational level, it was found that as women reach a higher educational level, the probability of participation in the labor market decreases. Regarding the marital status of women (particularly in the case of single women), it turned out to be a significant variable that has a negative influence on the probability of participation in the labor market of the Department of Cusco for the year 2018. That is, that women who are single are less likely to participate in the labor market, this is probably explained by the fact that they do not have a family burden and therefore prefer to continue studying. The research also showed that the dummy variable of having children under 5 years of age in the case of women in urban and rural areas has a negative influence on the probability of participating in the labor market of the Department of Cusco for the year 2018. It is say that those women who have children under 5 years of age are less likely to participate in the labor market, this is probably explained by the fact that they choose to stay at home to care for their children, this factor being a barrier for women that prevents your participation in the labor market. Finally, the research showed that the variable age of women in urban and rural areas has a positive influence on the probability of participating in the labor market of the Department of Cusco for the year 2018. That is, those women who are younger have less probability of participating in the labor market, this probably explained to them deciding to continue studying.
