The present investigation has as aim design a plan of improvement to reduce times and costs in the production area of a plastic bottle production company. There was established as object of study the process of production of plastic bottles. The used methodology included an interview to the head and workers of the production area, obtaining information later used in the analysis and diagnosis of the company where the low efficiency in the production of plastic bottles is identified as the main problem, which was 67.31%. Based on the identified problem, we proceeded to propose improvement proposals through the use of some lean manufacturing tools such as 5s, SMED and TPM. The proposals were analyzed, obtaining as a result a reordering in the production area, a better distribution of tasks, a reduction of time in line change of 51 minutes. That means more plastic bottles will be produced in the same period of time indicating an increase to 82.32% of production efficiency. In addition, with the applied proposals, a more organized work environment is generated where more efficient production management is carried out. In the economic evaluation of the proposals, a NPV of 1 982.74 and an IRR of 19.22% were obtained, which indicates that the project is profitable and can be implemented.
