Resumen: The objective of the present work presents a proposal to increase the total productivity in manufacture of sheets of the company PERU PIMA S.A.
PERU PIMA is a family business whose business is the textile sector. It has been operating since the 1990s and is characterized by offering quality Peruvian products, mainly bedding, fabrics and towels. Its customers are mostly hotels, department stores, among others. It is a company that tries to stay in the market despite the unfair competition from imports and the various contingencies that Peru and the entire world are going through. Only the clothing area can produce around 27 000 sets of sheets annually.
By analyzing both the internal and external sector of the company, it has been determined that the problems detected in the sheet manufacturing area are directly affecting sales as customers decide to change suppliers due to delays in the delivery of the products. products. Likewise, the different variables analyzed showed that there is low total productivity (0,059 sets/S/.) and exhausting working hours, greater than 50 hours of weekly work due to low labor productivity. (0,04211 sets/S/.).
It was decided to apply the 5S methodology in the sheet manufacturing area, since with limited resources and in a short period of time better results could be achieved.
Because of the applied improvement, a positive and significant change was observed in the sheet manufacturing area at an organizational and productive level, achieving a competitive production rate using resources efficiently, especially human resources that are vital for the company. Indicators such as labor productivity increased by 50% and the percentage of weekly production compliance improved by 45%; on the other hand, total productivity increased by 6,17%.
