The objective of this research was to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence and resilience in a sample of 181 adolescents from a public educational institution in Trujillo during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research was quantitative, basic and descriptive-correlational. Data was collected through the BarOn Emotional Intelligence Quotient Inventory and the Resilience Scale (ER). The results obtained showed that the average level of development predominates in emotional intelligence (55.2%) and resilience (49.7%). The lowest level of development is observed is the intrapersonal component of emotional intelligence. Regarding resilience, acceptance of oneself and of life was the dimension with the lowest level of development. In addition, the statistically significant, direct and large reliability between emotional intelligence and resilience was confirmed (r = 0.535, p < .005). It is concluded that there is a need to strengthen and intervene in the interpersonal component of emotional intelligence and the acceptance of oneself and the life of resilience through individualized programs according to the needs of the students.
