The objective of this study was to determine the relationship between resilience and emotional intelligence in students from the first to fifth grade of secondary school of a Reque National High School, likewise, to determine the correlation between Emotional Attention and the dimensions of Resilience; In the same way, to determine the correlation of Emotional Clarity and the Resilience dimensions, on the other hand, to determine the correlation between Emotional Repair and the Resilience dimensions. The study has a quantitative approach, descriptive and correlational cross-sectional design. The population was constituted by 420 students between the ages of 12 to 18 years of age. The tests were the Resilience Scale (Wagnild & Young, 1993) and the Emotional Intelligence Scale TMMS - 24 (Salovey & Mayer, 1995). It was evidenced that there was a low correlation between the variables Resilience and Emotional Intelligence; when analyzing the correlations between the dimensions of emotional intelligence, they were moderate, with a highly significant statistical difference. The relationship between the dimensions of emotional intelligence and resilience indicate that emotional attention is weak with feeling good alone and self-confidence; with perseverance, equanimity and personal satisfaction had no association and emotional clarity and emotional repair were moderate with feeling good alone, personal satisfaction, perseverance, self-confidence and equanimity.
