The purpose of the present investigation was to determine the superficial water scarcity index of the Lauramarca tributary basin; for which after having obtained the hydrometeorological data of the stations selected for this study, an analysis of consistency and completion was carried out, always seeking to obtain the best values of R2 for the regionalizations of both precipitation and temperatures, way that the necessary records for the modeling of the studied basins were generated. Then, the application, calibration and validation of the generation models of chosen flows continued, applying them in the first place in the river basin of the Mapacho River, comparing the generated flows with the gauging of the hydrometric station of Paucartambo, thus determining that the Lutz model Scholz achieves a better fit compared to the GR2M model in this basin; later they were applied in the microwatersheds that make up the Lauramarca tributary basin, where the GR2M model achieved a better fit than Lutz Scholz, which is why the decision was made to use the first one to generate the available surface water supply at 75% persistence; that, with the application of the reduction coefficients (coefficient of reduction by quality and coefficient of reduction by ecological flow), it was possible to obtain the value of the net surface water supply. At the same time, the water demand was calculated through in situ surveys; allowing us to obtain the value of the superficial water scarcity index of the Lauramarca tributary basin, placing it in the “medium“ range, since 14.60% was obtained, a value that indicates that the Lauramarca tributary basin still does not present problems on the management and utilization of its water resources, however, this situation could change in a few years, if a management plan is not implemented to optimize the use of water resources on time.
