Given the growth in electricity demand, the expansion of the electrical transmission network is imperative in Peru. The maintenance of high voltage lines is essential to ensure the reliability and safety of the electrical transmission system, because the accumulation of dirt and contaminants in the insulators can compromise their ability to withstand the electrical voltage and decrease transmission efficiency. In this sense, the main objective of this research was to increase productivity in the insulator cleaning service through the implementation of methodologies such as the Study of Methods, Poka Yoke and REBA, for which a new cleaning method was designed. As a result, a productivity of 55 insulators per man-hour was achieved, thanks to a reduction in the execution time of the activities and an efficiency improvement of 87%. In addition, the service delivery time was reduced by 69%, reducing reprocessing by 20% through the design of a new cleaning method. Finally, personnel burnout was reduced from 13 points to 3. These achievements demonstrate that the application of appropriate methodologies can have a positive impact on operational efficiency and service quality, which benefits both the company and its clients.
