The purpose of this work is to determine the relationship between attitudes towards mathematics and the academic performance of students at the Universidad Andina del Cusco, Filial Quillabamba, 2018- I. The method corresponds to the quantitative approach, of a non- experimental nature, it was used the survey of attitudes towards mathematics and a note record sheet. The selected sample was random; To verify the hypothesis, the Chi Square statistical test was used to measure the relationship of the variables and Kendall's Tau-b to measure the level of correlation. The findings show us that the level of attitude towards mathematics of the students of the Universidad Andina del Cusco, Filial Quillabamba, is 33.6% low, 29.9% medium and only 12.4% very high. . 38% of the students of the Universidad Andina del Cusco, Filial Quillabamba, 2018-I present academic performance in the subject of mathematics of a bad level; 44.5% of the students show regular level performance and 17.5% show good to very good academic performance in mathematics subjects. Therefore, it is concluded that there is a direct and significant relationship between the attitude towards mathematics and the academic performance of the students of the Andean University of Cusco, Quillabamba Branch (p- value=0.000<0.005). Therefore, the degree of relationship between the attitude towards mathematics and academic performance is 44.2%, a value that shows a very high and direct association between these variables. The students of the Andean University of Cusco with a low level attitude towards mathematics, 56.5% have poor academic performance and 41.3% have a regular level; On the other hand, of the students with a very high level of Attitude towards mathematics, 41.2% present very good academic performance.
