The present investigation was carried out in the maternity service of the Health Establishments of the district of Colquepata, province of Paucartambo. The methodology had a qualitative approach, using the perception of the users. The sample population consisted of 25 multiparous and postpartum mothers attended in the maternity service. The results obtained show that for the sociodemographic characteristics subcategory, women are between 26 and 40 years old, while the educational level corresponds mostly to complete secondary school, followed by incomplete secondary school, only primary school and women in a situation of illiteracy. The marital status of the women was mostly cohabiting and some of them married, finally, the most prevalent occupation is housewife and a smaller number are merchants. Regarding the medicinal plants subcategory, it was obtained that the use of medicinal plants is increasingly losing interest in the rural population, given that at present the frequent use is of medicines prescribed by a health specialist, leaving aside cultural traditions, since that the new generations are losing more and more the application of such ancestral treatments in the stage of gestation, labor and puerperium.
