The research “FAMILY RELATIONS AND THEIR INFLUENCE ON THE MORAL AND MATERIAL ABANDONMENT OF THE ELDERLY ADULT, COMMUNITY OF SUYO, SICUANI, CUSCO - 2020“, aimed to: - Determine if family relationships influence the moral and material abandonment of the elderly, in the Community of Suyo, Sicuani, Cusco - 2020. The methodology was descriptive, correlational and cross-sectional with a sample of 60 older adults. The technique was the interview, the instrument was a questionnaire that was used for sociodemographic data for adults and results of the variables. RESULTS 56.7% of older adults are between the ages of 71 and 80 and are female, 53.3% are widowers and have more than 3 children, 30% are married and have more than 3 children, 50% are illiterate and beneficiaries of the pension program 65, 16.7% have primary education and belong to CIAM. 80% of older adults have poor communication with their relatives, 70% consider that respect for the elderly is bad, 83.3% consider that their family environment is bad, 80% have bad family relationships. 40% consume their food twice a day and consider that it is inadequate and / or bad, 23.3% have vision and hearing problems, use natural medicine, 83.3% have a monthly income of less than S /. 150.00 and they receive it through a pension, 60.0% take care of themselves and live alone, 33.3% receive monthly visits from friends, 66,7% present material and moral abandonment The results of the Chi square with a value of x2 = 7.500 and the asymptotic significance p = 0.024; evidence that family relationships influence material and moral abandonment.
