ABSTRACT The following study aimed to implement a pilot system for the treatment of wastewater from the Municipal Slaughterhouse of Cajamarca using as a base the lombrifilter system, which helps us to clean up the waters of the industrial, domestic and commercial process, and then be able to discharge them to the net of sewerage when they comply with the admissible maximum values proposed in Supreme Decree N ° 001-2015-VIVIENDA (Modification to DS 021-2009-VIVIENDA). The development of this investigation is comprised between the months of September to November of the year 2017 and includes a treatment with lombrifilter that is the first layer composed of earthworms (Eisenia foetida) and sawdust, where the waters of the rivers then pass through a layer of fine sand for construction of 0,5 mm, an anthracite layer, a layer of pumice stone, a thin layer of gravel and a layer of river stone; allow to oxygenate the water from the drip that exists between each of the layers, finally decant the water and thus make the sampling. In this way it obtained water treated with low organic load within the maximum admissible values. The importance of the study lies in the appropriate treatment and apt for its final disposal in the environment, as well as a by-product that can be reused as natural fertilizer. It is also important because it can’t be avoided with this type of activities, such as the one imposed by SEDACAJ S.A. in the month of February 2017. (See annex 4, page 78) The results were very favorable for the purposes of the project, which were reduced in the case of the BOD from 7004,00 mg/L to 280,16 mg/L in the first repetition, while in the second it was reduced from 6906,60 mg/L to 210,12 mg/L. On the other hand, the COD parameter was also decreasing until reaching 810,9 mg/L in the first repetition and 486,54 mg/L in the second after having obtained very high values of 8109,00 mg/L and 8025,5 mg/L respectively. The remaining parameters are kept within the maximum admissible values, obtaining final results 7,15 units of pH, 6,73 mg/L in dissolved oxygen and 20,00 °C of temperature, all that is mentioned before in repetition one . While in repetition 2 was obtained 7,23 in pH, 19,80 °C in temperature and 7,25 mg/L in dissolved oxygen.
