The trial was carried out in the Irrigation Research Unit belonging to the Soil Academic Department at the National Agrarian University La Molina from June to December 2015. The response of phosphorus applied at different times of the vegetative cycle of the purple corn crop was studied. M0: Control without phosphorus, M1: 100% Phosphorus application at the start of growth (7 DAE), M2: Phosphorus application during the slow growth phase (45 DAE), M3: Phosphorus application from emergence to the start of male bloom (65 DAE), M4: Phosphorus application from emergence to pasty grain formation (109 DAE); under three sowing densities D1 = 60,000 pl/ha, D2 = 70,000 pl/ha and D3 = 80,000 pl/ha and drip irrigation. The statistical design was divided plots. Planting densities were randomly arranged in plots within each block and phosphorus application times randomly arranged at the level of subplots within each complete plot. Total and commercial yield of ears of purple corn presented highly significant differences due to the effect of sowing density and the moment of phosphorus application. The highest commercial yield was presented at the level of 80,000 pl/ha with 8,985 kg/ha of ears of corn. Likewise, with the application of phosphorus during the slow growth phase (45 DAE), the highest commercial yield was obtained with 8,222 kg/ha of ears of corn. Furthermore the agronomic parameters that characterize the crop indicate that it is with the phosphorus application during the slow growth phase (45 DAE) that the maximum water use efficiency (EUA) with 2.77 kg/m3 was presented. The highest harvest index (CI) of 52.2% with the 100% phosphorus application at the start of growth (7 DAE). Also, the highest leaf area index( LAI) was found on control without phosphorus with 5.69 m2/m2 and the highest transpiration coefficient (TC) of 204 l/kg was presented with the 100% of phosphorus application at the growth start (7 DAE). The anthocyanins concentration in corn kernel presents statistical differences for densities factor. With 60,000 pl/ha (1,044 mg/100g) the highest value was presented and differs in percentage from 70,000 pl/ha (696 mg/100g) with 50.1%. For grain anthocyanins there are no statistical differences, however, the highest value was also pesented with 60,000 pl/ha (186 mg/100g). On the other hand, the response for the moment of phosphorus application does not show statistical differences, the highest value in corn kernel (886 mg/100g), occurs when phosphorus was applied during the slow growth phase (45 DAE) and with grain (196 mg/100g) when 100% phosphorus was applied at the growth start (7DAE).
