ABSTRACT This investigation is about the economic and trade potential of organic bananas of CALEB Cooperative San José de Moro, Chepén export market to California, United States. That is, the financial and commercial capacity of the CALEB Cooperative, with respect to organic banana production is evaluated. Talk of economic and commercial potential is to exploit the opportunities that have not yet taken advantage of and that can be take advantage from a set of keys, which develop new economic and commercial alternatives to generate profits in the CALEB Cooperative San José de Moro, Chepén; to which then enter the export to new markets, such as California, United States. In the independent variable, the financial part will be developed, which consists of debt levels, liquidity and profitability, which will be found through profit and loss and balance sheet of the cooperative; as well as the tax burden, which consists of taxes that are attributed to CALEB cooperative. Also in the commercial part of the business strategies it will show cooperative, and our strategies for improving this will arise. In the dependent variable, the US market is demarcated, verifying that California is the best choice for export, the production capacity of the cooperative will also be identified, countries that import organic bananas; also tariff barriers were also identified to enter the US market. Also you can find a theoretical framework mentioned above, which used to have prior knowledge of the terms used. Supply and demand, access to market, export supply and trading strategies are also part of this investigation. This way this thesis is expected to serve as a guide and a precedent for future research.
