An instrumental study was carried out with the objective of analyzing the psychometric properties of the Relationship Questionnaire (Batholomew & Horowitz, 1991) in a sample of 441 young people and adults (33.8% men and 66.2% women) between 18 and 45 years old (M = 25.1; DE = 5.5) residents in Lima. As part of the internal structure analysis using factor analysis by Main Axes and Varimax rotation, two factors were found that explained the 30.26% of the variance. For convergent validity, the scores of the Anxiety and Avoidance dimensions of the RQ and the Experience in Close Relationship Questionnaire (Brennan, Clark & Shaver, 1998) obtained acceptable correlations (r> .40). In addition, RQ's Preoccupied and Fearful attachment styles correlated with ECR Anxiety and Avoidance, and Secure style correlated with Avoidance. The four attachment styles obtained acceptable reliability (test-retest) (ICC> .40). Therefore, it is concluded that the Relationship Questionnaire presents acceptable psychometric properties to measure attachment in the study sample.
