--- Academic performance is the degree of achievement of the objectives set out in the formal curriculum. The evaluation result of the acquired knowledge in a particular formation process at different educational levels result from a constellation of factors. According to psychologist Morales mentions that is the result of the complex world surrounding the student, as determined by a series of everyday aspects (stress, work capacity, intensity of study, skills, aptitude, personality, attention, motivation, memory, half-relational) which directly affect the academic performance of individuals. It is therefore important to identify personal and academic factors that may be affecting it, now every time we give more importance to family role in the progress and educational development of students and that parental behavior affects much on the motivation and interests of their children to study. In this context the present work is performed entitled "Factors that influence the academic performance of nursing students at the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos in 2009" whose objective was to determine the factors that influence student academic performance Nursing of the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos
