The objective of this research was to promote quality education in terms of student training and therefore the institutional environment was studied, which is considered as one of the factors that has an impact on teacher performance. The study was prepared to determine the relationship between teacher performance and the institutional environment in teachers of a private educational institution of Lima. This work is descriptive, quantitative and correlational design. The sample consisted on 87 teachers of regular basic education, to whom two Likert scale tests were applied. The first was of institutional environment prepared by Bris (1990) and adapted by Pérez (2010) and the second, of teaching performance prepared by Valdéz (2004) and adapted by Sulluca (2010), both instruments meet the psychometric requirements as they demonstrate a high degree of validity and reliability. In this way, they allow the objectivity of the answers obtained by the teachers according to the study variables, which were statistically treated using the Pearson coefficient, which is a parametric test used to analyze the relationship between two or more variables. The results indicate that there is a positive relationship between the variables institutional environment and teacher performance. Likewise, a significant relationship corresponding to the motivation dimension that belongs to the institutional environment variable.
