This thesis report titled as Proposals for defense design of river in the Machungo locality, right margin of the Huallaga River, Alberto Leveaú District, San Martin Province, San Martin Region, has been developed with the purpose of proposing design alternatives of river defense to solve the flood problem that affects the urban riparian area of the town of Machungo. For the development of riparian defense designs, bibliographic and internet sources link research has been carried out, which allows us to know the design procedure, formulas and tables that we will use. The fieldwork has been carried out that includes the collection of historical information of maximum floods, the surveying survey, sampling for the study of soil mechanics in the area where we design the designs, which was subsequently completed in the cabinet. The hydrological study of maximum avenues was made from the hydrometric information of the HLG Picota Station provided by SENAMHI, using the Log Pearson III and Gumbel methods. The hydrological and hydraulic parameters necessary to develop both riparian defense designs (earth dam and rock-cut dam) were determined, such as, for example, stable channel width, maximum avenue strut, depth of scour, etc. Finally, we designed the first riparian defense proposal that was an earth dam outside the channel and parallel to the Huallaga river bank of approximately 1 + 240 km. As a second proposal for river defense, we proposed a rocky dike with a length of 1 + 274.85 km. approximately, in the same way, parallel to the banks of the Huallaga River.
