Abstract: The following research titled as Zoning of the bearing capacity of the soils of the town of Bernabé Guridi of the district of Tarapoto, San Martin province, San Martin region has the objective of determining the bearing capacity of the soils of the study area that allows to elaborate a zoning map. The research methodology was descriptive, on which it was sought to specify and analyze the geological and geotechnical characteristics. According to these studies, the classification was determined by the SUCS method where the following soil types were obtained: low plasticity clays (CL), clayey sands (SC), silty clay sands (SM-SC) The carrying capacity of the pits are as follows: C-01 = 1.11 kg/cm2, C-02 = 1.08 kg/cm2, C-03 = 0.95 kg/cm2, C-04 = 0.91 kg/cm2, C-05 = 0.81 kg/cm2, C-06 = 0.77 kg/cm2, C-07 = 0.99 kg/cm2, C-08 = 1.05 kg/cm2, C-09 = 0.99 kg/cm2, C-10 = 0.84 kg/cm2, C-11 = 0.95 kg/cm2, C-12 = 0.92 kg/cm2, C-13 = 0.87 kg/cm2, C-14 = 0.92 kg/cm2, C-15 = 0.98 kg/cm2, C-16 = 1.04 kg/cm2, C-17 = 0.86 kg/cm2, C-18 = 0.95 kg/cm2, C-19 = 0.97 kg/cm2, C-20 = 0.89 kg/cm2, C-21 = 0.93 kg/cm2, C-22 = 0.87 kg/cm2, C-23 = 0.89 kg/cm2, C-24 = 0.89 kg/cm2, C-25 = 0.96 kg/cm2, C-26 = 0.92 kg/cm2, C-27 = 0.88 kg/cm2 y C-28 = 0.89 kg/cm2
