The following research work had as objectives the following: evaluate the effect of four planting densities on the yield of the Lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) Var. "Grand Rapids Waldeman'S Strain", in the province of Lamas, determine the characteristics and agronomic behavior under different densities of sowing with higher yield and at the same time determine the economic analysis of the treatments under study, was carried out in the El Pacifico farm, located politically in the district and province of Lamas, department of San Martín geographically it the consists of a South latitude of 06°16´15”, wes longitude of 76°42´45” and an altitude of 920 m.a.s.l., in the high jungle of Peru and is located in the tropical dry forest life zone (Bs-t), for the execution of the experiment the statstical desing of blocks was used at random with four blocks, four tratments making a total of 16 experimental units. The statistical data generated with the SPSS22 program was processed to obtain the analysis of variance up to P<0.01 and the Duncan Multiple Range Test at P <0.05 of the Determination coefficient and the Variability Coefficient. The components studied were the density of sowing in the cultivation of lettuce variety Waldemans strains. Whose studied treatments were T1 (0.1 m between plant and m between row) density / ha (500 000), T2 (0.2 m between plants and m between rows) density / ha (250 000), T3 (0.3 m between plants and 0.2 m between rows) density / ha (166 666), T4 (0.4 m between plants and 0.2 m between rows) density / ha (125 000), for the conduct of the experiment occurred with the seedling, cleaning of the land, preparation of the land, design of the field, planting, in the cultural work we have the control of weeds, irrigation and harvest; the variables evaluated were plant heigh (cm), diameter of the stem base (cm), number of leaves, weight per plant (g), production yield in t/ha, economic analysis; arriving at the conclusions that treatment T4 (0.4 mx 0.2 m) achieved the best averages of the weight of the plant with 219.7 g, diameter of the neck of the plant with 2.19 cm and with the highest number of leaves per plant with 23.5 leaves, statistically surpassing the other treatments, the highest average yields were achieved by the T1 treatments (0.1 mx 0.2 m), T4 (0.4 mx 0.2 m) and T2 (0.2 mx 0.2 m) being stadistically equal to each other with 27 325.0 kg.ha-1, 26 209.4 kg.ha-1 and 25 506.3 kg.ha-1 of yield respectively. According to the economic analysis, with the T1 treatment (0.1 m x 0.2 m), the highest benefit / cost was achieved with 0.36 and the highest net profit with S /. 2166.00 soles, followed by the treatments T4, T2 and T3 who obtained values of 0.31; 0.28 and 0.09 of B / C and S/. 1853.63; S/. 1656.76 and S/. 516.35.
