In the present investigation, it will use spectral prospecting techniques to determine zones of hydrothermal alteration through the analysis and processing of aster satellite images in the district of Llacanora, with which it is intended to identify mineralogical characteristics of a hydrothermal alteration as well as structural conditions and mini ng companies that favor mineral deposition; since this type of information is not available in the area, therefore, a study and analysis is necessary in order to specify the mineral zones of hydrothermal alteration beyond the reach of the community and without a large investment for their identification, for which we worked with 2017 aster images, images taken during the dry season to favor the work, after its corrections a spectral analysis was made to identify hydrothermal alteration minerals, identifying minerals such as kaolinite, alunite, jarosite, montmorillonite , among others, a visual analysis was also carried out to identify the area of interest according to the combination of bands and thus discriminate zones with some type of hydrothermal alteration. Finally, based on the spectral and visual analysis obtained, we contrasted with structural studies carried out in the area, identifying favorable structural zones for mineralization such as the Cajamarca fault, evidence of this is the textural alteration of the sandstones of the Farrat formation, as well as as the presence of minerals of hydrothermal alteration, concluding that in the district of Llacanora it was possible to prospect for hydrothermal alteration zones using satellite aster images, and areas with the presence of argillic alteration were determined.
